Do I need to tour before submitting an application?

No, a tour isn’t required before you apply—but we definitely recommend it! Visiting the campus is a great way to get a feel for the school, meet some of the staff, and see if it’s the right fit for your family.

Students take an individual admissions screening on campus led by our guidance counselor.
  • Applicants for 5th–8th Grade:
Students need to complete the ISEE test, either at St. Luke’s or another approved test center. Parents handle registration and payment through the ISEE website. The test costs between $160 and $235, depending on the type.
  • Applicants for Preschool: There is no admission screening for preschool students.

Do students have to be on grade level to be accepted?

In general, students should be performing at or near grade level to move forward in the admissions process. This helps ensure they are prepared to succeed in our school. However, we always look at the “whole child” and assess each student’s individual circumstances and background

Do siblings of current students receive priority in the admissions process?

Yes, we do give priority to siblings of currently attending students of St. Luke’s. However, all applicants—regardless of their sibling status—must complete the entire admissions process and meet all enrollment criteria. Please note that space is very limited for the upcoming school year, and sibling priority does not guarantee placement. This applies to both Preschool and K–8 applicants.

After siblings, additional consideration is given to:

  • Active members of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, as verified by the Senior Pastor

  • Alumni families, defined as having a custodial parent who graduated 8th grade from St. Luke’s Lutheran School

Can I submit an application after the deadline?

Yes, applications submitted after the deadline will be added to our interest list. If the wait pool for the desired grade drops below five students, we’ll reach out to begin the admissions process and assess eligibility for enrollment. At that time, a reduced application fee of $50 will be required. If your child is selected to continue in the process, the remaining $100 fee will then be due.

What is a wait pool?

A wait pool is a group of qualified applicants we keep on file when a grade level is already full. It’s not a ranked list—if a spot opens up, we look at the whole pool to see who might be the best fit at that time. Being in the wait pool means your child is under consideration if a space becomes available.

Should I apply if there are no spaces available?

Yes, definitely! Even if a grade is currently full, situations can change—families may move or make other schooling decisions, which can open up spots. By applying before the admissions deadline, your child can complete the admissions process to determine eligibility for the wait pool and remain under consideration if space becomes available.

What is the Interest List?

The Interest List allows families to stay connected when a grade is full or the application deadline has passed. If you apply after the deadline, your child’s name will be added to this list. When the wait pool for that grade drops below five students, we contact the next family on the Interest List to invite them to begin the admissions process.
