Did you know that this is the most important week of the entire year? Perhaps you’re thinking why yes Rod the major league baseball season does start on Thursday and the sweet sixteen and elite eight NCAA tournament games are this week also. But of course, that’s not why this week is so important! This is Holy Week – the week that turned a world of darkness into light.
Throughout this school year we’ve focused on our theme “See the Light…Be the Light” based on John 8:12. And this light we’ve been talking about is Jesus, the light of the world. Each morning this week at school we’ll have a special worship service that will remind us about the perfect life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus. I hope you have or will join us for the Symbols of Lent, Cradle to the Cross, Seder Meal (join us online), and Service of Darkness. Each teaches us about the life saving story of Jesus. And all of it points to the amazing celebration of Easter this Sunday. The tomb is empty because He is Risen! All the light in this world and in our lives is only possible because of the cross and the empty tomb. Jesus’ resurrection means we are free, forgiven, and live as children of His light. I pray you and your family have a joyous Easter giving all praise and thanks to God.
