We hope and pray that each of you is having a relaxing and joyous summer!

Here at St. Luke’s, we are busy planning and preparing for the upcoming school year. One of our favorite things to do is to develop a theme for the new year. We’re pleased to share with you that the theme for 2017–2018 is “New in Christ” based on 2 Corinthians 5:17: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.”

This theme emphasizes the fact that as forgiven children of Jesus Christ, everything about us is new—our old sinful self is no more and we live joyfully as servants of Jesus. Throughout this school year, we’ll remind our students that they are loved immensely by God, and no matter how bad yesterday’s test or game or rehearsal may have been, each morning we awaken renewed, forgiven, and ready to serve!

Each month will have a unique sub-theme and verse that will focus on one part of our new creation in Christ. If you want to get warmed up for this year’s theme, go online and listen to the song “Made New” by Lincoln Brewster.

We pray that the remainder of your summer is full of fun! Never forget that each day is made new and full of opportunities and possibilities because of Jesus’s love and grace for each of us. You are “New in Christ”!
