For over 24 years, Mrs. Barbari has been a foundational leader, mentor, and beloved presence here at St. Luke’s Lutheran School. From starting the preschool program from the ground up to teaching and mentoring countless students, she’s worn many hats throughout her time with us! Her commitment to our school has enriched our entire community, making her an invaluable part of St. Luke’s legacy.
Mrs. Barbari’s journey with us began as a parent volunteer. She has served as PTL President, grant writer, Sunday School teacher for both 3-year-olds and middle school girls, and even cheerleading coach. Her heart for this school is evident in her willingness to fill every need. In the classroom, she taught for 14 of her 24 years, bringing dedication and a love for learning that continues to shape St. Luke’s.
With a Bachelor’s from Bradley University and a Master’s from George Mason, Mrs. Barbari brings a wealth of knowledge to her role, but it’s her deep love for our families and her innovative spirit that set her apart. Her family is also a huge part of her St. Luke’s story—her three children all attended the school, and she is a proud grandmother to four grandchildren, with one more on the way! At home, Mrs. Barbari enjoys time with her husband, Ayman, who has been her partner for over 41 years, and together they cheer on the Chicago Bears and the Boston Red Sox.
A fun fact? Mrs. Barbari has traveled to nine countries across three continents, even spending eight months living in Spain! This global perspective is just another layer of her well-rounded and adventurous spirit, which she brings to her work with children and families every day.
Thank you, Mrs. Barbari, for your years of unwavering love, leadership, and innovation. St. Luke’s is incredibly blessed to have you at the helm of our youngest learners’ education!
