This week’s Staff Feature is Mr. AJ Leupold, our Assistant Director of Maintenance, who has been a part of the St. Luke’s family for 22 years. Mr. Leupold first joined St. Luke’s working part-time at the Preschool, often putting in long hours to help keep the campus running smoothly. He earned an Associate degree in Horticulture and Landscape Design from Valencia College and enjoys using those skills both at work and at home. In his free time, Mr. Leupold loves building projects, planting fruit trees, and learning to grow new varieties like cinnamon trees. He also enjoys beach and pool days, staying active through exercise, and has completed several half marathons.

Mr. Leupold’s favorite St. Luke’s traditions include the All Church Picnics and, more recently, being part of the exciting “Big Drop.” His favorite Bible passages are Psalm 37 and Isaiah 40:30-31, verses that have encouraged him throughout his faith journey. One fun fact that many families may not know is that Mr. Leupold has been skydiving three times and says it was an amazing experience each time. He and his wife, Natalie, a St. Luke’s alumna, have two daughters who attend St. Luke’s.

Over the years, St. Luke’s has had a meaningful impact on Mr. Leupold’s life and faith. He spent 11 years mentoring high school youth, valuing the opportunity to lead by example and build lasting relationships through late-night conversations and shared experiences. Through the Lutheran community, he has formed lifelong friendships, traveled to nine states, and experienced the blessing of strong connections rooted in faith. St. Luke’s is grateful for Mr. Leupold’s dedication and the many ways he faithfully serves our school and church community.
