Staff Feature: Mr. Gui Vieira
This week’s Staff Feature is Mr. Gui Vieira, who is finishing his second year as part of the St. Luke’s community. He serves as a Mental Health Counselor through Lutheran Counseling Services and is hired by St. Luke’s to support students, teachers, and parents as they navigate the challenges life can bring. Gui holds a Master’s degree in Counseling and Biblical Counseling, equipping him to provide care that is both clinically informed and grounded in faith.
Outside of his work, Gui enjoys spending time doing a variety of hobbies that reflect his curiosity and appreciation for God’s creation. He likes playing chess, reading mystery novels, and getting outdoors whenever he can. He also enjoys cooking foods from around the world, something inspired by his travels at a young age when he spent several years visiting different countries and collecting cookbooks as meaningful souvenirs. At home, he and his wife of 12 years stay busy with their two children, an adventurous 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter, cheering them on as they explore sports and build friendships.
Gui shares that Proverbs 3:5 to 6 is a meaningful verse in his life, reminding him to trust in the Lord even when the path ahead is not fully clear. One of his favorite St. Luke’s traditions is Field Day, where he enjoys seeing families come together and students connect with one another. He also reflects on how being part of St. Luke’s has strengthened his own faith, as he is continually surrounded by a community that encourages returning to God’s Word in both work and fellowship. St. Luke’s is thankful for Mr. Vieira and the many ways he serves and supports our community.
