This week’s Staff Feature is Mrs. Emily Saunders, our 5th Grade Teacher’s Aide, who joined St. Luke’s in July 2026. Mrs. Saunders attended Florida State University before pursuing cosmetology at AVEDA. Since joining St. Luke’s, she has loved becoming part of the school community and especially enjoys working with our fifth-grade students.

Outside of St. Luke’s, Mrs. Saunders enjoys running, spending time with her family, going to the beach, and trying new restaurants. As she puts it, she runs so she can eat more! She and her husband, Matthew, have three children: Parker, 12, Peyton, 9, and Palmer, 7. Families may also be surprised to learn that her sister is Mrs. Pullum, one of our first-grade teachers.

Mrs. Saunders especially enjoys Wednesday chapel and starting her day with worship and the St. Luke’s community. The phrase “Let go and let God” is a meaningful reminder in her faith journey to trust God and place each day in His hands. St. Luke’s is thankful to have Mrs. Saunders as part of our team and for the joy she brings to fifth grade.
