This week’s Staff Feature is Mrs. Megan Albers, one of our Second-Grade Teacher’s Aides, whose connection to St. Luke’s began 20 years ago. Mrs. Albers first joined St. Luke’s as a kindergarten teacher before taking time away from the classroom to stay home with her three boys. As her sons began preschool at St. Luke’s, she stayed involved through volunteering and returned to staff toward the end of last school year as a First-Grade Teacher’s Aide. This year, she is excited to be serving in second grade. Mrs. Albers earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from UCF and loves being back in the classroom while still having the flexibility to keep up with her boys’ busy schedules.

A true Floridian, Mrs. Albers grew up in the Jensen Beach and Stuart area before moving to Central Florida to attend UCF. She and her husband, Phil, are high school sweethearts and have three boys. Their older sons are identical twins and sophomores in high school, while their youngest is a sixth grader at St. Luke’s. All three boys began at St. Luke’s in preschool. Mrs. Albers enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her boys play sports, taking pictures, and planning and decorating for various events. One of her favorite St. Luke’s traditions is the Patriot Salute, especially seeing students honor and personally thank veterans for their service. Watching all three of her boys participate over the years has made the tradition even more meaningful.

St. Luke’s has also been an important part of Mrs. Albers’ faith journey. Her family joined St. Luke’s Church when she first began teaching here, and she is grateful for the friends and staff who have prayed for, encouraged, and walked alongside her family over the years. She is especially thankful for the strong foundation in Christ that St. Luke’s has helped provide for her boys. Her favorite Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, encourages us to stand firm in faith, be strong, and do everything in love. St. Luke’s is grateful to have Mrs. Albers back in the classroom, continuing a connection that has spanned nearly 20 years.
