Staff Feature: Mrs. Sherry Abell

Mrs. Sherry Abell has been a cherished member of the St. Luke’s community for decades—21 years on staff, 42 years as a church member, and attending services for 46 years. Over the years, she has worn many hats, including teaching Sunday School, and has become a living repository of St. Luke’s history, sharing her knowledge and experience with students and colleagues alike.

Sherry earned her Associate’s Degree from Seminole State and brings a strong commitment to both education and faith. Her favorite Bible verse, Philippians 4:13, reflects her positive outlook, and she shares that being part of St. Luke’s has enriched her spiritual journey, giving her the chance to discuss God at work and participate in Bible study.

Outside of school, Sherry enjoys staying active at the gym and spending quality time with her four grandchildren—all under the age of six. She has been married to her husband, Randy, for 42 years, and their two daughters, Stephanie and Autumn, (both SLLS Alumni), along with grandchildren, are a central part of her life.

One of Sherry’s favorite St. Luke’s traditions is Grandparents’ Day, when students excitedly show off their school to their Grandparents. A fun fact many families might not know—she’s checking off a bucket list item very soon by traveling with her best friend to New York City to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, a Broadway show, and the Rockettes. We are grateful for Mrs. Abell’s dedication, faith, and the warmth she brings to the St. Luke’s community every day.
