Teacher Feature: Mr. Steve Lindauer
This week’s Teacher Feature is… Mr. Lindauer! Mr. Lindauer is celebrating his 12th year at St. Luke’s! With a bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics from the College of Charleston and a master’s in optics from UCF’s CREOL program, he brings both passion and knowledge into his classroom every day. Before becoming a teacher, he worked on NASA’s MESSENGER program, which sent a spacecraft all the way to Mercury!
Family is also a big part of his life. His wife, Jenn, is an engineering manager, daughter Izzy and son Zach (both proud St. Luke’s alums) are now in college and high school, and his youngest, Alli, is currently a student here. Outside of school, he enjoys coaching sports for his kids, watching movies with his wife, and even trying his hand at composing architectural music.
When asked his favorite part of teaching, he says it’s simple—“working with the kiddos.” He loves encouraging students with the reminder that “hard work is greater than being smart,” and he’s guided by his favorite Bible verse, John 8:12.
St. Luke’s is grateful for the dedication, joy, and wisdom Mr. Lindauer shares with our students each day.
