This week’s Teacher Feature is Miss Lynette Tegtmeier — our amazing 6th and 7th-grade Religion teacher who’s been blessing St. Luke’s with her gifts for 19 years! Originally from the Midwest, she earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Concordia University, Nebraska, and her Master’s in Reading Education from Illinois State. In 2006, God called her to St. Luke’s.
Miss Tegtmeier has a heart for missions and has served on mission trips to Honduras and Latvia. She’s also traveled to all 50 states and three continents, with Kenya being one of her favorite places she’s visited. She’s helped lead VBS programs abroad through St. Luke’s and enjoys exploring hidden Florida gems like the Citrus Tower and Weeki Wachee.
Her hope for students is to leave SLLS with a deep, personal connection to Jesus and the comfort of Scripture in their hearts. When she’s not teaching, she’s likely traveling, reading, or planning her next adventure.
Her favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 40:31 — “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength…” We’re so thankful for the love and dedication Miss Tegtmeier shares daily with our students!
