This week’s Teacher Feature is our incredible 7th Grade ELA Teacher, Theater Director, and Basketball Coach, Miss Sara Pfenning! Miss Pfenning graduated with honors from Concordia University of Wisconsin, earning a double major in Education and English, along with a minor in Theology and Theater. She brings passion, creativity, and dedication to everything she does at St. Luke’s. She is also currently working on earning her ASL (American Sign Language) degree, which reflects her commitment to expanding her skill set and connecting with even more students in meaningful ways.Beyond the classroom, she is a true adventurer! She has traveled to all 50 states, 5 continents, 31 countries, and 35 National Parks—with a goal of visiting all 50 state capitals (she’s at 30 so far!). Her love for the arts extends beyond teaching, as she has performed in 28 different shows and has even written three original productions for schools. When she’s not teaching or directing, she enjoys traveling, swimming, basketball, and volleyball.
Miss Pfenning’s favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:10 – “Be still, and know that I am God.” What excites her most about St. Luke’s is watching her students thrive in so many different areas—whether it’s growing academically in the classroom, discovering their talents in theater, or excelling on the basketball court. We are so grateful for the many ways she inspires and impacts our St. Luke’s community!
