Teacher Feature: Mr. Rick Ruedlinger
This week’s teacher feature is Coach Rick Ruedlinger, serving as our Athletic Director and PE Teacher. A graduate of the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports and Fitness, Rick has spent 24 years shaping the athletic experience at St. Luke’s. His passion for working with students—especially athletes—remains at the heart of everything he does. Rick’s favorite Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 12:12, reminds him that though we are many, we are one body in Christ—an ideal that shines through in his approach to teamwork, training, and faith.
Outside of the gym, Rick leads a life filled with adventure and family tradition. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Aime, for 45 years, and together they have three sons. A devoted hiker, he has climbed Mt. LeConte an impressive 13 times, a challenging five-mile journey up and down that he enjoys sharing with his family. His love for sports extends beyond the school setting—he once played racquetball at the top level for a team in Sterling Heights and has met the legendary athlete Michael Jordan. Always up for a challenge, Rick has also completed 26 escape rooms, showing that his competitive spirit and problem-solving skills go far beyond the court.
Rick’s advice to students is simple yet profound: “Never give up and trust in your faith to carry you forward.” St. Luke’s is truly grateful for Mr. Ruedlinger’s leadership, commitment, and the lasting impact he continues to make on our students and school community.
