This week’s Teacher Feature shines the spotlight on our memorable 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Burnish!

Jennifer has been part of the St. Luke’s family for 5 years and brings 25 years of teaching experience to our classrooms. She’s passionate about providing a strong Christian education — not only for her students, but also for her own son, who’s a proud 4th grader here and has been with us since he was 2 years old! Jennifer was married last June and is getting ready to celebrate her one-year anniversary this summer.

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Jennifer attended Christian schools in Illinois before moving to Florida to attend UCF, where she earned both her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and her Master’s in Reading Education. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, going to plays and musicals, and attending sporting events. Did you know that she has visited 47 states and will be checking off number 48 this summer with a trip to New Hampshire. Can you guess what two states she has not been too?

Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

We are so blessed to have Mrs. Burnish as part of our St. Luke’s family!
