This week’s Teacher Feature is dedicated to our fantastic 5th Grade teacher, Mrs. Sarah Nowicki. Mrs. Nowicki has been married to her husband, Mike, for 39 years and they share two sons together, Tim and Jon, as well as one adorable granddaughter, Brooke. Mrs. Nowicki is a huge Green Bay Packers fan and loves to bake and read when she is not teaching her 5th graders here at school.

When asked why she chose to work here at St. Luke’s, Mrs. Nowicki stated that she felt called by the Lord into ministry here and credits feeling God’s love in a real way through her students every day as one of the many reasons why she continues to love working here. If you have ever attended one of our chapel services and are wondering why her name sounds familiar, you may have heard the testament of that love reverberating around the chapel through the adorable cries of her students chanting her name when it was called. She also states that she has continued to be amazed by the support that she has received from both the administration and her peers throughout her time here.

Celebrating her 40th anniversary teaching within the Lutheran School Ministry was one of her favorite moments looking back on her time working here. Growing up, Mrs. Nowicki’s family helped to shape her future both in ministry and in education. Her father was a Pastor and he not only was the one to baptize and confirm her, but he also was given the distinct honor of being the one to marry her and her husband. Her grandmother also worked in education and taught Mrs. Nowicki when she was in the 3rd Grade. Needless to say, both her father and her grandmother helped to lay the foundation for the incredible life of servitude that she has given to the Lutheran School Ministry.
