A proud Florida native, Mrs. Kolbasuk grew up in South Florida and made her way to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English Education with a minor in Creative Writing, and never left Central Florida after falling in love with the area (and the theme parks!). With 18 years of teaching experience, she has taught students in grades 6–12 across all levels, from Intensive English to Advanced Placement Language and Composition. She brings a deep passion for language, literature, and helping students find their voice in both reading and writing.
When she’s not in the classroom, Mrs. Kolbasuk is always on the move! She loves reading, writing, traveling, visiting theme parks, attending concerts, singing, dancing, and spending quality time with family and friends. She’s also a big fan of adventure and is known to take on ziplining and ropes courses — and even leapt off a waterfall in the Dominican Republic!
Her favorite Bible verse is 1 Thessalonians 5:11: “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up…” — a message she truly lives out with her students and fellow staff each day.
Mrs. Kolbasuk says what excites her most about teaching at St. Luke’s is finally feeling like she’s home. After years of being part of the community as a parent, she’s grateful to now be part of the mission to share God’s love and inspire young minds through education.
Mrs. Kolbasuk — we’re so blessed to have you on our team!
