This week’s Teacher Feature is someone who truly embodies the heart of St. Luke’s—our amazing Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Wendy Clark!
Wendy’s roots here run deep. Not only did she attend St. Luke’s from Kindergarten through 8th grade, but her father was part of one of the very first classes at our school. For her, St. Luke’s isn’t just a workplace—it’s home. A place filled with family history, personal memories, and a deep passion for Christian education.
With over 31 years of teaching experience—25 of those at St. Luke’s—Wendy brings a wealth of knowledge and a heart for young learners. She earned her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood from the University of Florida and continued on to Florida State University for her graduate degree. (Yes, she’s a proud Seminole and a big fan of all things sports—especially football!)
Outside the classroom, Wendy enjoys reading, walking, and cheering on her favorite teams. Her nurturing spirit extends beyond the classroom as well—she’s a proud mom to one son, and her love for children shines through in everything she does. Her favorite Bible verse, Psalm 46:10—“Be still and know that I am God”—reflects the calm and centered heart she brings into her classroom each day.
What might surprise you is that Wendy once worked as a congressional and senate intern during college—proof that her talents and interests reach far and wide!
What she loves most about teaching at St. Luke’s is the opportunity to share Jesus with her students and watch them grow—not just in Kindergarten, but all the way through 8th grade. Seeing that transformation year after year is what fuels her passion.
We are so grateful for the light, joy, and dedication Ms. Clark brings to our school.
