When asked why Miss Pfenning chose to come work at our school, she said that it was the feeling of God’s call to teach and the appeal of the beautiful state that we live in that she couldn’t turn down the offer to join our amazing staff. It is because of this that Miss Pfenning prioritizes spending her free time at the beach when she is not enjoying her time at school teaching her students. When she is not doing either of those things, she travels as much as she can! She has traveled to all 50 states and has future goals of traveling to all 7 continents, all 63 US National Parks and visiting all 50 of the Capital Cities. She also loves spending time with her family and is the middle child of four siblings. Her favorite role of all, however, is being the adoring aunt to her beloved nieces and nephews.
When at school, Miss Pfenning’s favorite times are when she is celebrating events with her kids. Her most memorable moment teaching at St. Luke’s has been decorating her class Christmas tree with her kids and playing Christmas music with them in class. She also absolutely cherishes her teaching team and declares that they are the greatest group of middle school teachers there is. To expand her own personal education, she is in the process of getting her American Sign Language Certificate and has been signing since she was 8 years old. While she enjoys doing many other things such as playing volleyball and coaching basketball, she uses her favorite Bible verse, Psalms 46:10, to remind her how to slow down in times of activity and trust in God.
